As part of a regional event series being rolled out across Western Australia, Career Development is Everybody’s Business was held in Bunbury by the Department of Education and the Department of Workforce Development.
Representing Monadelphous and the broader resources industry, Kate participated in a panel discussion as they talked through different career opportunities and what employers look for in young people. Key themes discussed were around the types of occupations, education and training requirements and recruitment processes.
“I’m very passionate about promoting pathways in our industry and enjoy being involved in these events. I believe sharing my journey and experiences is a good way of providing a genuine insight into life in the resources industry,” said Kate.
Kate also attended the first Bunbury Women in Resources Luncheon, arranged by the Chamber of Minerals and Energy and sponsored by Albemarle. The group got together for an insightful look at the ways in which the roles of women in the mining and resources sector have changed and grown over the past thirty years. The guest speakers engaged the group, speaking about their experience in the field, gender equality, education and leadership.
