Monadelphous Community Grants Program

Supporting what matters locally

A little support makes a lasting impact

Monadelphous is proud to be a part of the communities where we live and work. We give back and invest in these communities by supporting grassroots and community organisations, clubs, events and programs – giving local ideas a lasting impact through grants of up to $2,000.

Eligibility criteria and T&Cs apply.

Who is eligible for a community grant?

Not-for-profit, sporting and recreation, and community organisations and groups are eligible to be considered for funding. We have a keen interest in supporting:

  • Education and training programs
  • Healthy living, community safety and wellbeing initiatives
  • Diversity and inclusion activities
  • Indigenous capacity building
  • Community and family events
  • Initiatives that empower community members and leaders
  • Environmental and sustainability initiatives

To be eligible, organisations must be located in one of our eight program regions; Karratha, Newman, Port Hedland, Darwin, Gladstone, Roxby Downs, Goldfields or Bunbury and surrounds.

Organisations can submit one application at a time and acknowledge that Monadelphous may not necessarily fund the whole (or any) of the requested grant, even if they meet the eligibility criteria. Applicants agree to our program Terms and Conditions outline below.

The following are not eligible for Monadelphous funding:

  • Individuals or sole traders
  • Operational costs (insurance, rent, wages and salaries)
  • Religious activities or political organisations/purposes
  • Academic studies or individual pursuits
  • Activities that are high risk or involve gambling
  • Retrospective activities or events (activities or events that have already occurred)

Terms and conditions

Grant awards and payment

We award grants of up to $2,000. Grants are awarded through one-off payments for the project specified.

•    Following award of a grant, successful organisations will provide an invoice for the nominated grant amount, as advised by Monadelphous.
•    We will transfer the funds by electronic funds transfer only into an account held by the successful organisation.
•    Funds are not transferable and can only be used for the purpose stated in the application.

If circumstances change, grant recipients must let us know as soon as possible. Organisations can submit one application at a time and acknowledge that Monadelphous may not necessarily fund the whole (or any) of the requested grant, even if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Acquittal

Grant recipients must complete an Acquittal Report within one month of project completion. In the report, recipients will be asked to demonstrate how they have met and measured the project outcomes, what was achieved, and who benefited. This includes reporting against specific social impact measures (e.g. number of participants involved, local reach etc).

Recipients will need to include evidence that they used the grant funds as stated in the application. We may ask recipients to provide original receipts of purchases made – it’s the recipient’s responsibility to keep a complete set of records. If recipients do not complete an Acquittal Report, they may be ineligible to apply for Monadelphous funding in the future.

Media and promotions

In addition to the acquittal requirements, we ask grant recipients to share with us photos and videos showing the impact the grant has had on the local community - people connecting, volunteers getting involved and the wider community being supported. We may also ask grant recipients to take part in media activities (such as photo and video opportunities) or provide a quote for publication so we can share these stories with our employees, customers, partners and networks.
